How i learned to cure insomnia

insomnia A few weeks ago i would be sleeping till about 5 am or so. I’d wake up and go use the bathroom. Then when i’d get back into bed I’d just be laying there. Trying to fall back asleep and not being able to.

This continued for a couple of days. Afterwhile it got kind of annoying. I’ve been reading Dale Carnegie’s how to stop worrying and start living. In there he said one of the ways to cure insomnia is to be so busy during the day that at night time you will fall right asleep.

So ever since then whenever i go out and skateboard i make sure that i give it my all. Not just so i will be able to sleep because i will know that i spent my day well.

Simple tips to cure insomnia

  • Do a good day of hard work
  • After a certain time at night cut out sugar based drinks
  • Shower before relaxing at night

Just a few that i use. The list can vary from time to time.

7 Ways to stop being so hard on yourself

Whenever we try something and don’t succeed we can be very mean to ourselves.  When doing so is not necessary.  Sometimes we can be so mean to ourselves that we expect less success than we are capable of.

Whenever we do not achieve a goal we should be having nothing but positive talks with ourselves. Not the “i knew that i couldn’t do it so why did i even try”  those kind of talks are no good.

  1. Talk to yourself as if you’ve already accomplished it-Doing this at times has helped me do more than i normally would have. But when you do this make sure you are completely honest with yourself.  You have not accomplished it yet, you know that you are going to no matter what.
  2. Believe in yourself- More and more am i starting to believe in myself. Doing what i feel i was put here to do and to keep doing it with full force.
  3. Keep doing what you enjoy-Whenever you keep doing what you enjoy you will enjoy life even more. Living to your standards not anyone Else’s
  4. Learn to laugh when things get hard-When things or time’s get hard we tend to get sad,depressed, angry and etc. You have to keep a sense of humor through all things.
  5. Spend each day wisely- Days are expensive. When you spend a day you have one less day to spend. So make sure you spend each one wisely-Jim Rohn
  6. Meditate- I’ve been doing this for sometime now and it has had a drastic effect on me. A positive affect i must say
  7. Pray- Whenever you say what is bothering you out loud and your able to hear it, it’s a relief of getting it out of your system. Being more aware and less worried about it.

Dealing with parents separating and being separated can be a tough thing to deal with. We sooner or later find a way to deal with it. It can be through doing drugs, alcohol and many other ways.

I had found my crutch to lean on through smoking marijuana.  I thought that i was living the life.  When truly i wasn’t.  The main thing was i did not stand up tall and strong.

It all boiled down to me having to accept the fact of my parents being divorced. Also to know that i will not let it hold me back anymore.

Here are the 12 ways

Developing the mindset to have what it is that you do want is not an easy thing to do.  But overall all it takes is commitment to wanting to develop the mindset. Cause you can say that you want to all you want.

But until you actually take the time to develop your mindset you will not have it.

First you have to decide what it is that you want out of life. What is it that you want to have? What is it that you want to experience? Be?

Second what will i become if i have all of these.

Third what do i need to do to have all of these. It’s not to complicated to figure out. Many of the things are so simple. All it requires is taking the time to do and notice.


How to believe in yourself when no one else does

dsc_1149 Dealing with no one believing in you may be a hard thing to do. With whatever we try to do and have no support it instills a feeling of why are we even trying.  But that is not a reason for us to stop trying.

You have to be willing to do it until you succeed. Put all that you’ve got into it and then some. When you do that each time you will turn it into a habit. A very good one that is beneficial.

Whenever i was younger i had started skateboarding, With dreams of becoming a pro skateboarder. As time went on i did not feel as if i had the support i yearned for. So i thought I’d do a grown up thing and stop. Which was one of the stupidest things to ever decide to do.

Thanks to my brother from another he got me back into it. I’m having  fun everytime i step onto a skateboard. Even if there is no one believing in you but yourself its ok.  That belief that you have within yourself let it take control and continue to grow. I’m saying that you should believe in yourself when others are wondering how you are capable of doing so.

Tips to believe in yourself when no one else does

  • Stay positive
  • have a desire for success
  • Visualize sucess
  • Take action
  • Never accept failure (its a process in learning)
  • Accept failure (you learn what not to do)
  • Keep doing it as long as you are happy.

Wasting time on the internet i’ve learned is something that is very easy to do.  Spending time on Facebook, twitter, myspace and all of the other ones doing nothing at all. But overall it’s something easy to overcome here are some tips to use

  • Focus on what you are on the site for
  • Devote a certain amount of time for the sites
  • Discipline yourself to know when enough is enough
  • Instead of working more hours do more per hour-Jim Rohn

How to not have a afterwork Slump

Jessica watching tv Working a 8+ hour shift can be emotionally draining. Once we get off of work it can seem like a relief. I remember when i would get off work it’d, seem like a weight is being lifted off my shoulders.

The way that i would have sustained energy after work  was by simply by only using a certain amount of mental energy and physical energy.  Doing what is required and then some. One of the major things to never forget is To work harder on yourself than your job-Jim Rohn.

Jim had said that whenever you work hard on your job you make a living and when you work hard on yourself you make a fortune.  After i heard that it changed my whole job mentality. I’m not saying that a job is bad to have.

Some tips to not have a afterwork slump

  • Eat different things for lunch at work
  • Mentally stay energized
  • Never let it wear you down
  • Relax while others are stressed

Desire means everything

Ambition 3 Cause you have to honestly want to achieve success. That’s one of the main things that i’ve come across. With our day to day routine with what we do we should never settle for less than what we can do. If we continue to do what we are comfortable with then how will we grow.

You can say all you want that you want to try something. But until you actually have a desire to do it, then that’s when it will mean the most. So now decide that you will promise me and yourself that you will have a stronger desire to succeed in what you are doing.

Busy being busy doesn’t guarantee success

I had first come across the busy being busy phrase from Jim Rohn. He had talked about those who are so busy being busy that’s all they know how to do. They have no sort of clue where they are going. They just are being busy.

Whenever you take upon a task you shall go about it the correct way. Going about it the correct way with a game plan, and a vision of where you want to go is the who key.

Without a vision and a plan of where you want to go is useless. It’s like taking a boat out into the ocean and never having looked at a globe, where you want to go, what to expect and etc. I’m sure there is many other things pertaining to safety.

The Whole point is to have a vision and a game plan. Write down your vision of what you want to accomplish (goals) and how you are going to accomplish them (game plan).

Too much of good things are bad

Whenever we come across something that is good for us we instill in our minds that it is ok to do it all of the time. Whatever the case may be it’s not the best choice. I had heard this from Jim Rohn in the power of ambition.

I had thought about the time when i found something that would benefit my health and etc. Drinking Naked Juice smoothies would help clean out my system and what not. But at one point i was drinking one every day. It’s like i got hooked into drinking them.

When i should have been drinking them in moderation. Having one every once in awhile. Then i would drink some for lunch and before then i’d have one for breakfast.  Doing just that was complete overkill. Jim Rohn had said an apple a day will keep the doctor away, But eating only apples is not good. 

I’m not sure if it was the exact words but it was something along those lines.

Just make sure whatever it is that you are doing its not the only thing you are doing.
